SQL Server Groups on Telegram, Whatsapp and Slack: Let's talk about SQL Server?

All right with you ?

Today we had another SQL Server ES meeting and I was able to talk to a lot of people about the IT market, have a nice networking and I realized that a lot of people have very interesting questions or knowledge to share, but I'm not joining any Telegram group, Slack or Whatsapp, ie, do not interact with the technical community, not for lack of interest, but for lack of knowledge about these great communication channels.

As such, I will post here some excellent channels for technical discussions where you can teach, learn and interact with other great Data Platform professionals.

If you know of a channel that is not listed here, leave the link in the comments that I will update in the post.

Telegram

  • Azure Brazil: The Telegram group for Azure and Cloud related topics.
  • SQL Maniacs: The official Telegram group from SQL Saturday SP.
  • SQL Server DBA: Exclusive SQL Server group with more than 1.700 members throughout Brazil.
  • DBA Brazil: Group with more than 1.800 members from all over Brazil, to talk about SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and other DBMS's.
  • MCSA - MCSE Data Platform: Group for sharing Microsoft certification exam experiences, knowledge, and materials (MTA, MCSA, MCSE).
  • SQLCLR Maniacs: Exclusive SQLCLR Discussion Group (see here to know what is SQLCLR) in SQL Server.
  • Power BI - Planilheiros Brasil: Group designed to discuss PowerBI, DAX, MDX and BI and Power BI related topics by the largest Power BI and training company in Brazil
  • SQL Server ES: SQL Server Discussion Group Formed exclusively IT professionals from Espírito Santo at Telegram.
  • North SQL: Exclusive Data Platform Group (SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) of professionals from the North of Brazil.

Whatsapp

  • SQL Server ES: SQL Server Discussion Group Formed exclusively by IT professionals from Espírito Santo on Whatsapp.
  • MCSA - MCSE Data Platform: Group for sharing Microsoft certification exam experiences, knowledge, and materials (MTA, MCSA, MCSE).
  • SQLCLR Maniacs: Exclusive SQLCLR Discussion Group (see here to know what is SQLCLR) in SQL Server.
  • MS SQL Server Authority: DBA Gilberto Rosa Group for SQL Server Discussions and Script Sharing

It is noteworthy that there are several other large groups in Whatsapp, such as SQL Maniacs itself, but they are closed groups and allow guests only, due to the Whatsapp limitation, which only allows 256 members in the group. I tried to list here, only the public and open groups, which allow entry using invitation via link.

Slack

  • SQL Community: SQL Server International Community Slack Group.
  • DEV-ES: Group intended for discussion on Development, Database and IT in general, formed exclusively by Espírito Santo IT professionals at Slack.

  • Microsoft Technical Community: Group that brings together all those who are interested in getting to know the Microsoft technical community.

  • PASS - The Community for Data Professionals: International group on the actions of PASS, a global technical community at Microsoft, aimed at sharing knowledge about the platform.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: International group on technical discussions and news about SQL Server.
  • SQL Server DBA: International group on technical discussions and news about SQL Server.
  • SQL Server Administrators: International group on technical discussions and news about SQL Server.
  • Microsoft Business Intelligence: International group on technical discussions and news about Microsoft BI tools.
