The 9th Meeting of the Local Group SQL Server ES is coming and it's very cool! This time we will have as speakers Fabrício Lima - MVP and me, Dirceu Resende.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about Power BI and Reporting Services, two competing Microsoft BI solutions, because they both do the same thing. Is it really that? In this talk, I will introduce both of these tools and demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of each of them, helping you to define which one to use in your business and which scenarios.
Additionally, MVP Fabrício Lima will show us how to improve 7 real queries from a client in a Tuning consultancy. Let's discuss together the walkthrough that he followed and improve the query only with the creation of indexes, since it is a third party application and we cannot change the queries. This database had 800 GB of compressed data (more than 2 TB if it had no compression).
